Two incomplete fire-cracked cobbles of unknown date; stones which have been subjected to high heat causing them to crack and break. Similar objects from the same farm have been recorded as pot boilers, but it is also possible that these stones were used to form hearths, probably for an industrial process. The stone is probably a fine grained sandstone. The two pieces do not join.
