Summary

Description
English: The objectives of the 55th (West Lancashire) Division during the Battle of Pilckem Ridge. The British frontline is the annotated blue line, and the annotated red line is the German frontline/outpost positions. The thick blue line represents the limit of the division's first objective the battle: the first system of German frontline trenches including the outpost line. The thick black line represents the German second line of trenches and the division's objective of the battle. The green line represents the German third line of trenches and the division's ultimate objective of the day.

Author 55th (West Lancashire) Division staff (work was commissioned by the divisional commander, with James Ogden Coop authorized to utilized divisional resources to accomplish the task). Coop died in 1928.
