Description
Deutsch: Die Porta praetoria des Kastells Pfünz. Eine Möglichkeit der Rekonstruktion nach Anregung von Fischer (Pustet, 2008) unter Zuhilfenahme der Rekonstruktionsbesprechungen und Beispiele in Johnson/Baatz (Theiss, 1987). Statt einem Wehrgang mit Zinnen über dem Querhaus wäre auch ein Dach – wohl mit einem sich zum Kastellinneren hin neigenden Ziegeldach – denkbar. Die Höhe der Kastellmauer wurde von dem am Kastell Wörth ermittelten Befund übernommen. Dort wurden 4,15 Meter bis zum Gesims gemessen. Fast so hoch sind also auch die hier gezeigten Tore. Der in verschiedenen Werken zu mittelkaiserzeitlichen römischen Kastellen genannte Zinnenabstand liegt zwischen 1,2 bis 2,4 Metern. Die Vermaßung der Türme in dieser Zeichung spiegelt die Realität wieder: Der linke Turm ist schmäler als der rechte.
