Summary

Description
English: The offshore wharf built to accommodate increased traffic at Port Carlisle. It started construction in 1836 to give more shelter to large vessels wich could not enter the canal basin. It was part of a more ambitious "Floating dock", which was not completed. Following closure of the canal, it continued in use and a railway line was built to it.
