Summary
| Description | This is Platform Holly, tapping into the Elwood Oil Field, amidst the Coal Oil Point Seep Field, close to the coast by UCSB (which occupies Coal Oil Point) and Santa Barbara's airport, from which I departed just before taking this shot, as the plane banked to the left, heading toward Los Angeles. There are major oil seeps atop the Ellwood field, yielding lots of methane and This makes it appear that there is actually a spill at Holly. The quantity of oil on the water in these shots is higher than I'm used to seeing. |
