English: An engraved plate in the Macklin Bible (Cadell & Davies edition of the Apocrypha) after a specially-commissioned painting by Philippe De Loutherbourg. Photographed from the Bowyer bible, Bolton, England. Bowyer Bible 26.3261. The Heroism of Eleazar. During a battle, an elephant carrying soldiers fallen to the ground, a horse rider beside attacked by a soldier with a dagger at right (1st Book of Maccabees 6:43-46). 1815. Inscriptions: Lettered below image with title, text reference, production detail: "P. J. De Loutherbourg Pinxt.", "C. Heath Sculpt." and publication line: "London, Published June 1 1815, by T. Cadell & W. Davies Strand". Print made by Charles Heath. Dimensions: Height: 480 millimetres; width: 384 millimetres.
