Čeština: Písek Gate at K Brusce Street near Hradčanská metro station in Prague, Czech Republic. A view from the outer side. The gate, once a part of 1720s city fortification, is one of four preserved Baroque gates in Prague (the remaining three are at Vyšehrad. The name of the gate derives from medieval suburb of Písek, which used to stand next to the Vltava River near today's Malostranská metro station). The similarity of the name with the town of Písek in South Bohemia is only a coincidence. |
