Summary

Description The U.S. Air Force prototype Piasecki YH-16-PH Transporter helicopter (s/n 50-1269), with a twin-rotor design had provisions for up to 43 troops. The development of this transport and rescue helicopter was accelerated in response to the Korean War. Two C-46s are in the background. The program was abandoned after the crash of the second prototype.
