English: Pat H. Chappelle "Pioneer of Negro Vaudeville" on the front page of 1901 "The Colored American" newspaper. Pat Chappelle was also the owner of the traveling vaudeville "The Rabbit's Foot [Comedy] Company," and was the largest employer of that time of African-American entertainers.
