Summary

Description
English: 1520s papal banner with the arms of Alexander Borgia and laurel leaves; as shown in Titian's fresco for the Altar of Madona di Ca'Pesaro (or Pala Pesaro). This flag was one of those used by Jacopo Pesaro in his capacity as a papal military strategist; the Pesaro coat of arms is stamped on the lower side.
