Description
English: BATTERY PENSACOLA – CONSTRUCTED 1898-1899 AND COVERS ONE HALF OF THE PARADE GROUND OF FORT PICKENS. IT BECAME OBSOLETE ON 1933 AND ITS GUNS WERE REMOVED. HOWEVER IT HAS BEEN RESTORED BY THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE. IT HOUSED DISAPPEARING GUNS AT ONE TIME THAT COULD LOB SHELLS 8 MILES OUT TO SEA
