Description
English: Portrait of María Edwards (not Eugenia Huici de Errázuriz as previously thought), a Chilean woman who participated during the Holocaust in helping to save Jewish children in France and actively helped the French resistance. She was married to Guillermo Errázuriz and that is why she was known as María Errázuriz or Madame Errázuriz, as well as Eugenia.

Object history
English: The portrait was incorrectly identified: until 2014 it was thought that the woman portrayed was Eugenia Huici de Errázuriz, a Chilean patron of arts and wife of painter and diplomat José Tomás Errázuriz. In 2014 it was demonstrated that the woman in the portrait is María Edwards (reference).
