- Under United States law, this logo, a trademark of UCR, may be used on other sites for purposes of criticism and commentary. The image is used in History of the University of California, Riverside to those ends.
- There is no free equivalent, because one cannot be produced, according to the UCR Style Guide. The only allowable logograph is this logo, and any reproduction, digital or otherwise, does not represent the university.
- In no way does this inhibit trademark policies set forth by UCR. It cannot and will not be used to sell merchandise or propagate advertisement.
- This is used once in one Wikipedia article. It is the highest resolution of the official logo available to the public.
