English: Main patterns of normal mice EEG.
Upper trace - time (seconds), Par - parietal surface cortical electrode (closer to hippocampus), Fr - prefrontal surface cortical electrode, M - movements, amplitude scale - 1000uV. Waking I - behavior type I (voluntary, preparatory, orienting, exploratory), EEG contains theta-rhythm (about 8Hz) and fast oscillations. Waking II - behavior type II (automatic movement or awake immobility), EEG is irregular with slow and big amplitude oscillations. REM sleep is characterized with prominent theta-rhythm and animal's immobility, it looks like EEG during waking I. Non-REM sleep or SWS - slow wave sleep is characterized with desynchronized EEG containing large amplitude delta waves (1-4 Hz), it looks similar to large irregular activity of waking II EEG. Recordings were made with Neurologger device (NewBehavior AG, Zürich, Switzerland) in University of Zürich.Українська: Основні патерни нормальної ЕЕГ миші.

Waking I - поведінка І типу (довільна, орієнтувальна, досліджувальна), ЕЕГ містить виражений тета-ритм (коливання близько 8Гц) та швидкі низькоамплітудні коливання. Waking II - поведінка ІІ типу (автоматичні, ритмічні рухи або іммобілізація в стані притомності), ЕЕГ складається з нерегулярних високоамплітудних коливань. REM сон характеризується вираженим тета-ритмом (особливо у парієтальних відведеннях) та атонією скелетних м'язів (відсутність рухів), ЕЕГ виглядає подібно до waking I але містить менше високочастотних коливань. NREM або повільнохвильовий сон характеризується десинхронізованою ЕЕГ із високоамплітудними дельта-хвилями (1-4Гц), ЕЕГ виглядає подібно активності waking II.
