Description

Helicopters lift sandbags that will be dropped into the area of the levee break to facilitate repairs to 17th street levee in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Note: This work area may be near the 17th Street Canal, but the breach in that canal was closed before September 8. These sandbags are probably destined for one of the breaches which are still open. Location appears to be at or near Lake Pontchartrain shorefront, with Pontchartrain causeway visible in the distance.
