NORTH CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH. SEEING THE SIGHTS. 85 are also engravings from some of the celebrated paintings of theYosemite, by Albert Bierstadt, who was once a photographer inNew Bedford. The library occupies the second floor of the building. On thefirst floor are the offices of the mayor, city clerk, city treasurer, cityauditor, superintendent of streets, and board of assessors. The passenger station of the Old Colony railroad, situated eastof Acushnet avenue, between Willis and Pearl streets, is one of theattractive buildings of the cit). Its architecture is Romanesque.The building is 159.3 by 37.8 feet in area, with walls of red facebrick and trimmings of brown kibbe, rock-faced with round crandledcorners, and the roofs are covered with copper-green slate. Thefoundation is built on piles and large square blocks of granite laid incement mortar. The river is on the east and there is a pretty viewof Oxford village opposite. On the west is a large and handsomelawn, bordered \\ith tree
