Description
English: Mummy portrait of a Roman soldier with a gold wreath and a gold-decorated sword belt. Time of Emperor Hadrian, c. 130 CE. From er-Rubayat, Fayum, Egypt, acquired in 1927 CE. Encaustic painting on wood. The golden wreath and parts of a belt (gold and silver) were placed for comparison; 1st to 3rd century CE. Altes Museum, Berlin.
