This image is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film, and possibly also by any actors appearing in the screenshot. It is believed that the use of a limited number of low-resolution screenshots for critical commentary and discussion of the film and its contents on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under the Copyright law of the United States. This image is used to illustrate the fictional character Mister Squiggle on the article of the same name. It qualifies as fair use for the article on Mister Squiggle based on the fair use guidelines and policies, specifically

1. There is no free equivalent, nor can one be created. Mister Squiggle is a fictional character, and as a puppet (of sorts) all images of him are copyrighted.
2. The image respects commercial opportunities. Mister Squiggle is a TV show - an image of him doesn't compete with the commercial product in any significant way.
3. The use is minimal. Only one image is used for an article on this iconic character
4. The image has previously been published, by abc.net.au on their website, or alternatively as a TV programme
5. The image meets general content requirements and is encyclopedic - it identifies an iconic children's character
6. The image meets the general requirements for images
7. The image is used on at least one article, specifically Mister Squiggle
8. The image contributes significant to the article. Mister Squiggle is a character of bizarre appearance that cannot adequately be captured in words
