English: Springton Lake/Geist Reservoir, Marple Township, Pennsylvania
In spite of its official name, the reservoir has always been known by the name of the farm it flooded, “Springton” the home of the Pratt family for generations. It was owned by Henry W. Stokes before being condemned by the water company. The reservoir covers 391 acres, its maximum depth of 66 feet drains an area of more than 21 square miles and has a capacity of 3.5 billion gallons.
