Norsk nynorsk: Byvåpen for Molde kommune i Møre og Romsdal fylke, godkjent 1742. Våpenet synar på blå botn ein vassprutande svart kval som driv ei gul tønne framføre seg og symboliserer jag av sild inn i fjordane. Silda berga den lokale folkesetnaden frå hungersnød under uåra 1739 til 1741.
