Text Appearing After Image: ENTRANCE TO POWER CANAL AT THE MININDOKA DAM The power installation is of the Gen-eral Electric type. Other develop-ments are the Uncompahgre, alreadydescribed in this article; the Mini-doka and Boise, in Idaho; Huntleyin Montana, Truckee-Carson in Ne-vada, Klamath in Oregon, and fourin Washington, aggregating 17,000horse-power, the largest, the Wapato,generating 9,000, which is next inimportance to Roosevelt. The Minidoka plant is located onthe Snake River, 6 miles from thetown of Minidoka. The power houseis of reinforced concrete, 50 x 150 feetin plan, and 85 feet high. It containsturbine and generator floor and gal-leries. The hydraulic machinery con-sists of five vertical turbines of radialand axial downward-flow type, ratedat 2,000 horse-power each, whenusing 425 second-feet of water at 46feet head. There are also two ex-citer turbines of the vertical type,rated at 180 horse-power. The elec-tric generating apparatus consists offive 200-kilowatt, 2,300-volt, 3-phasevertical altern
