Summary

Description
English: Two hundred UK Armed Forces personnel deployed in late 2019 to South Yorkshire to support flood relief efforts.

The troops, drawn from the UK Standby Battalions based at Catterick (Light Dragoons) and Cottesmore (2 Royal Anglian), along with elements of the 4th Infantry Brigade and RAF Chinook helicopters of 18 Sqn from RAF Odiham assisted civilian authorities on the ground by bolstering flood defences in the area.

Pictured are The Light Dragoons (carrying sandbags) providing support to the Environment Agency and Doncaster Council as part of the effort to reinforce flood defences in the village of Kirk Bramwith, South Yorkshire.
