Summary

Description
English: The 'metal' road (actually State Highway 1) to Cape Reinga in Northland, New Zealand. 'Metal' is an old term for gravel, which is still used commonly in New Zealand. The depicted road was subsequently extended with asphalt seal ~ 2010 until it reached the Cape.
