Description
English: Afghan National Army members participate in the Massoud Day celebration in Panjshir, Afghanistan, Sept. 12, 2010. The celebration is in honor of Ahmad Shah Massoud, who was a Kabul University engineering student turned military leader who played a leading role in driving the Soviet army out of Afghanistan and led the resistance against the Taliban regime. Massoud was assassinated on Sept. 9, 2001, two days before 9/11.
