Description
Italiano: Dopo la morte di Leonzio, Lussurio - il primo cittadino di Terracina - fa arrestare il presbitero Giuliano e pronuncia la sentenza di morte: ordina di chiudere il diacono Cesario ed il suo maestro Giuliano in un sacco e gettarli nel mare. Cesario, poco prima di essere condannato, dice a Lussurio: “L’acqua, nella quale sono stato rigenerato, mi riceverà come suo figlio che ha trovato in essa una seconda nascita: oggi mi renderà martire con Giuliano, mio Padre, che una volta mi fece cristiano. Quanto a te, Lussurio, oggi stesso morirai con un morso di un serpente, affinché tutti i paesi sappiano che Dio vendicherà il sangue dei suoi servi, e delle vergini che facesti perire tra le fiamme”. Il 1° novembre dell’anno 107 d.C. i condannati sono chiusi in un sacco e precipitati, secondo la tradizione, dall’alto della guglia del “Pisco Montano” nel mare, dove muoiono per soffocamento.
