Description
English: Image of Martin Joseph Sheehan (r), born in Tralee, Ireland 12 April 1896, was a Second Lieutenant with the Royal Air Force,
the second of three sons of Captain D. D. Sheehan MP for Mid-Cork, Ireland, who served with him on the Western Front in World War I.
When on an observation mission with the No. 13 Squadron RAF over Cambrai, France, in an R.E.8 D4898 reconnaissance biplane, he was killed 1 October 1918, together with his pilot:

They are buried nearby in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission's Anneux British War Cemetery, Anneux, on the N30 route to Bepaume. Their graves: Plot 1, Row H nos. 21 and 19. Sheehan is commemorated on a panel of the Parliamentary War Memorial in Westminster Hall, one of MP's sons that died during World War I to be named on that memorial.[1][2]
Martin Sheehan's brother Daniel J. Sheehan, RFC was killed in May 1917, his uncle Sgt. Robert O'Connor killed at Passchendaele in July 1917.
