English: High Street, Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Re-creation of a Francis Frith photograph c1955 at http://www.francisfrith.com/search/england/humberside/market+weighton/photos/market+weighton_M178019.htm Both the Londesborough Hotel, on the left, and the Half Moon Public House, on the right, survive. Some frontages have changed slightly and the street lights have been moved but surprisingly few other changes have been made. The circles to the right of the crane are part of the Christmas decorations. |
