Summary

Description
English: Marestail is very high cirrus cloud, composed not of liquid water but of ice. The whisps are created by ice falling and/or being blown from the base of the cloud. Because it takes significant energy to pump moisture this high, marestail is a good indicator that a low pressure area is not far off.
