English: A view of the Manchester Bridge's New North Portal. Begun in 1911 and completed by 1913, the Manchester Bridge lasted until 1970. The portal sculptures, created by Charles Keck, are identified in some sources as the fictional heroes Joe Magarac and Jan Volkanik, despite there being no documented mentions of these characters prior to the 1930s.
Photograph taken by a Pittsburgh City Photographer on November 21, 1918.
