Summary

Description
English: Maister House, High Street, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
Plain but dignified Georgian brick house, built in 1744-45 for a local merchant, Henry Maister. No documentary evidence has been found, but its design has been attributed to Joseph Page. No less a figure than Lord Burlington, local aristo and architectural bon vivant, was also consulted. It was restored in 1968 by Francis Johnson. The only elaboration is the Ionic stone doorcase and plat band. Grade I listed. It is now owned by the National Trust and open to the public.
