English: Maffei 2 is an intermediate spiral galaxy 10 million ly away in the constellation Cassiopeia - Discovered from its infrared emission, lies in the Zone of Avoidance and is about 99.5% obscured by the Milky Way's dust clouds - Member of the IC 342/Maffei Group, the closest galaxy group to the Local Group -
