DescriptionMaesteg Castle Street railway station (site), Bridgend, 1994 - geograph.org.uk - 4124350.jpg
English: Maesteg Castle Street railway station (site), Bridgend, 1994.
Opened in 1861 on the Llynvi & Ogmore Railway's line from Pyle to Cymmer, this station closed in 1970. In 1992, a new station was opened for Maesteg around 200m east of the old station.
View west from the 1992 station, towards Nantyffyllon and Cymmer. The building appears to be a later addition, to the left of the site. 20 years after this image was taken, Castle Street station was still extant but buried in vegetation.
