English: A tram driver and conductor stand in front of Municipal Tramways Trust Type A1 tram number 55 in Victoria Square, Adelaide. A destination sign ("Walkerville") is visible between them and a route number ("6") above them. Another conductor is sitting in one of the open cross-benches. An early motor car is visible, as are two other trams in the background. The tram was one of 17 rebuilt from Type B "toastrack" trams in 1917, which halved the number of exposed seats by construction of a closed saloon. |
