Summary

Description
English: Solar irradiance spectrum. MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) bands shown (orange). Solar spectral irradiance incident on the top of the atmosphere (green curve) and transmitted through the atmosphere to the Earth's surface (brown curve). Major absorption bands in the atmosphere are clearly apparent.
