American made captured pakistani M-48 Patton tank. During 1965 Indo-pak war pakistani armour was largely American-made. The M48 tank were widely used by pakistani forces. In the Battle of Asal Uttar, Indian Army destroyed 97 pakistani tanks and some were captured. Captured tanks were in good working conditions. Indian army's Centurion battle tank, with its 105 mm gun and heavy armour, performed better than the overly complex Pattons. The Battle of Asal Uttar is described as one of the greatest tank battles since the Battle of Kursk in the second world war.
