Description
English: Plate 13. The Louvre in Paris: elevation of the former south facade facing the river, built to designs by Louis Le Vau from 1660 to 1663. From Architecture françoise, Tome 4, Livre 6. For Blondel's discussion of this plate (in French), see p. 57 of tome 4 (at Gallica). A second row of rooms was added to the south side of the wing c. 1668 with a new facade (see plate 11), covering the facade shown here.
