L'ORIENTALISME Loin du romantisme de du XIXe siècle, l'art orientaliste des années 20 et 30 s'attache à représenter les peuples et les individus avec un regard d'ethnologue. La Mission Dakar-Djibouti de Marcel Griaule et Michel Leiris en 1931, la Croisière Noire et la Croisière Jaune organisé par Citroën, illustrent bien cette nouvelle vision. Enfin, à travers les artistes représentés dans ses salles, le Musée évoque l'Exposition Coloniale de 1931, qui attire alors plus de 30 millions de visiteurs.
