Description
English: Lord Charles Strickland Standish was born in Lancaster County on 15 March 1790 and succeeded his father Thomas Strickland Standish on 4 December 1813. He served as a magistrate, deputy lieutenant of Lancaster County and sheriff in 1836. Charles Standish was elected deputy for the Whig Party of Wigan in 1837 and again in 1842. He married Émilie Conradine Matthiessen (1801-1831), grand-niece of Countess Félicité de Genlis, at Carlepont in France on 18 January 1822. Charles Standish died in London on 10 June 1863.
Français : Lord Charles Strickland Standish est né dans le Comté de Lancaster le 15 mars 1790 et succède à son père Thomas Strickland Standish, le 4 décembre 1813. Il occupe les fonctions de magistrat, député-lieutenant du comté de Lancaster et shérif en 1836. Charles Standish est élu député du parti Whig de Wigan en 1837 et de nouveau en 1842. Il se marie avec Émilie Conradine Matthiessen (1801-1831), petite-nièce de la comtesse Félicité de Genlis, à Carlepont en France le 18 janvier 1822. Charles Standish meurt à Londres le 10 juin 1863.
