Summary

Description A U.S. Navy Lockheed NC-121J (BuNo 131627) Blue Eagle I of the OASU (Oceanographic Air Survey Unit, later air development squadron VX-8) landing in 1965. Two "Blue Eagle" aircraft were based at Tan Son Nhut Air Base near Saigon, South Vietnam, and broadcasted radio programmes of the American Forces Vietnam Network from 1965 to 1970 (called "Project Jenny"). 131627 has still three antenna masts on this picture. The center mast was removed prior to the deployment to Vietnam because of flight stability problems.
