Summary

Description

This image of Francis Morphet Twisleton of the Otago Mounted Rifles comes from a published volume, which was rephotographed and then archived in a series of historic Post Office prints.

The caption notes that Twisleton is pictured in the only captured trench during the first attack on 21 August 1915 (Hill 60: www.nzhistory.net.nz/war/the-gallipoli-campaign/the-augus...). His revolver, on his thigh, had just been smashed by a bullet.
