Deutsch: Umschlag eines Briefes von Sven Hedin an seine Schwester Alma mit den chinesischen Briefmarken (China: Michel-Nr. 246 - 249), die aus Anlass der Chinesisch-Schwedischen Expedition in China herausgegebenen wurden. Die vier Briefmarken zeigen Kamele an einem Standlager mit dem Wimpel der Expedition und tragen den chinesischen Schriftzug Postverwaltung des blühenden Reichs der Mitte und in lateinischer Sprache darunter: Wissenschaftliche Expedition in die nordwestliche Provinz Chinas 1927 – 1933. Als Vorlage für die Briefmarken diente das Gemälde Nomaden in der Wüste im Palastmuseum Peking. Von den 25.000 Sätzen kamen 4.000 Sätze in den Schalterverkauf und 21.500 Sätze in den Besitz der Expedition. Sven Hedin verwendete sie zur Finanzierung der Expedition und verkaufte sie zu einem Preis von 5 Dollar pro Briefmarke. |
