La façade extérieure du palais Zenobio au crépuscule Le palais Zenobio a été érigé à la fin du XVIIème siècle sur un projet d'Antonio Gaspari, un élève de Longhena. Au XIXème siècle, le palais est devenu la propriété de la congrégation arménienne, fondée par Méchitar et dont le couvent est installé depuis 1717 sur l'île San Lazzaro, pour y ouvrir un collège (Moorat-Raphael) en 1836. Album sur l'île San Lazzaro www.flickr.com/photos/dalbera/sets/72157602502628663/ Ce collège a transmis la culture et la langue arménienne à de nombreux jeunes pendant plus de 160 ans. Il a été fermé en 1997. Un projet de rénovation est en cours en vue de créer un centre culturel et un espace de séminaire. Durant la 53ème biennale en 2009, le palais Zenobio a accueilli plusieurs pavillons nationaux : Arménie, Syrie, Macédoine et des évènements particuliers . Durant la 54ème biennale en 2011, le palais Zenobio a accueilli le pavillon national de l'Arménie et le pavillon national de l'Islande ainsi que deux expositions dont celle des photographies d'Anastasia Khoroshilova appelée "Starie Novosti" (Old News) voir le panoramique de la salle de bal du palais www.flickr.com/photos/dalbera/3751249103/ |
