Summary

Description Lawn sign supporting 1998 Oregon ballot measure 26-74, to raise the local area share of funding for TriMet's then-planned "South/North" MAX Light Rail project, which would have run for 16 miles from North Portland to downtown and then south to Milwaukie and Clackamas Town Center. The measure was put before voters who resided within the TriMet district, which encompasses most portions (not rural areas) of Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties. It failed to pass, on a vote of 48 percent in favor to 52 percent opposed.
