Nederlands: In de crisis hebben duurzame banken, coöperatieven en krediet-unies en islamitische banken het duidelijker beter gedaan dan zakenbanken en investment banks stelt Laura Spierdijk, hoogleraar econometrie RUG.
Gemeenschappelijke kenmerken van deze banken: richten zich op bankieren voor consumenten, willen bijdrage leveren aan reële economie, gaan niet alleen voor winstmaximalisatie of de korte termijn, laten zich leiden door bepaalde waarden en hebben een gematigd beloningsbeleid. Volgens een recent rapport van de Bank for International Settlements is het consumenten bankieren de afgelopen 10 jaar het meest rendabel en ook het meest stabiel geweest, in tegenstelling tot de investment banks waar meer risico wordt genomen en er een hogere onkostenstructuur is. |
