Calculation : For OBC(NCL),SC,EWS and ST, the quotas are from the total seats. But the quotas for People with Disabilty(PWD) and Women(Open/Gen) are 5 and 20 percent of the open to all reservation.

The graph is created to showcase the lack of meritocracy in IITs. Graph lacks Women and PWD quota divisions for the reserved categories.

Compare to China :

China’s affirmative action, roughly 1% to 7%, can be added to candidates’ scores if they come from the minority communities, constituting 8.4 per cent of China’s total population.
