Completed in 1927, the plant has 8 turbine/generator units with total generating capacity of 80 megawatts, expected to increase to 101 megawatts in 2017 after the units are rehabbed.
Signs read: "Danger/Keep away!/When horn blows rough water starts" and "Warning/Dangerous water/No wading, boating or swimming in this area"
