Nederlands: Deze voormalige koopmansbeurs, één van de pronkstukken uit de Schiedams jeneverindustrie, is meer dan 200 jaar oud. De bouw start in 1787 onder leiding van de Rotterdamse architect Carlo Giovanni Giudici en Rutger van Bol’es. Ruim 125 jaar blijft De Korenbeurs in gebruik als handelscentrum. Door de opkomst van de spiritusalcohol, die de moutwijn en granen overbodig maakt moet De Korenbeurs in 1918 haar deuren sluiten. |
