Summary

Description
English: Keble College in Parks Road, Oxford, England, and old graffiti "Hands off Vietnam" can still be faintly discerned on the wall surrounding Keble College. The college was founded in 1868 by Edward Pusey in memory of John Keble, central figure of the Oxford Movement whose tenets guided the institution: it was High Church and committed to simple, economical living as a radical departure from the privileged lifestyles enjoyed at traditional Oxford colleges. Its Victorian-Gothic architecture and sole use of brick as a building material have attracted much derision over the years including the apocryphal comment by a French visitor 'C'est magnifique mais ce n'est pas la gare'.
