Deutsch: Der Journalist Peter Frey (ZDF) (rechts) im Interview. In der Nacht vom 4. auf den 5. November verfolgte ganz Deutschland gespannt, wie die Amerikaner in die Wahllokale gingen, um einen neuen Präsidenten zu wählen. Die Amerikanische Botschaft nahm als Mitveranstalter von zwei großen Events in Berlin an den Feierlichkeiten teil.
Die erste Veranstaltung fand in der Hauptstadtrepräsentanz der Deutschen Telekom in Berlin statt und wurde gemeinsam vom ZDF, dem German Marshall Fund, der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik, der American Chamber of Commerce, dem Tagesspiegel, dem Internationalen Club im Auswärtigen Amt, dem Verband Berliner Kaufleute und Industrieller (VBKI) und der Deutschen Atlantischen Gesellschaft organisiert. Zum Programm zählten Podiumsdiskussionen von Wahlexperten, Live-Musik und fortlaufende Nachrichten-Updates ergänzt von den Bewertungen deutscher Experten für amerikanische Politik. |
