"Иоанн Предтеча - ангел пустыни". Андреас Рицос, школа/ Вторая половина XVI века, Северная Греция. дерево (ковчег), темпера, позолота. 45,7х37 см. ГМИИ Ж-4696

Реставрация домузейная. Доска цельная, шпонки, ковчег. Утраты левкаса и красочного слоя, местами утраты поновлены, прописи, свиток переписан. Графья. Надписи: греческая "Св. Иоанн Предтеча"; на свитке славянская "ПОКАИТЕСЕ ПРИБЛИЖИ БО СЯ ЦРТВО НБНОЕ" (Матф. 3, 2).

Иконографическая справка: Иоанн Предтеча Крылатый представлен фронтально в иконографическом изводе, известном с палеологовской эпохи. Позднейшая славянская надпись на свитке: "ПОКАИТЕСЕ ПРИБЛИЖИ БО СЯ ЦРТВО НБНОЕ" (Матф. 3, 2). - свидетельство бытования иконы в славянской среде.

Стилистическая справка: Стиль иконы следует византийской традиции, очевидно копирование позднепалеологовского образца. Об этом свидетельствуют уравновешенная композиция, культура личного письма, классицистическая трактовка фигуры и горок, крупные пробела и оливковые тени на плаще. Графья местами не совпадает с рисунком. Имитация "византийского" стиля, техника письма, плотный колорит, сочетание ярко-синего цвета милоти и зеленого плаща, как и красное поле по ковчегу, несомненно, указывают на происхождение иконы из Северной Греции, возможно, Македонии.
